10/02/06 - The Date People
Just thought I would throw in a quick note today about The Date People. No, I am not promoting a new singles website, I mean the dates that you eat.
I have learned to love dates and found out about Jamie & Anjou Jones, owners of The Date People in CA, from raw websites and books so I thought I would give them a call. Jamie answered all my questions and was very helpful and informative. It was pretty neat speaking with the owner as they have no employees and run everything themselves. That being said, he has all the most up to date information on everything datey!
So I signed up to be on this years crop call back list, and in October I will get my phone call so I can order, I can't wait. (Note: You have to call to sign up every year) Then I asked Jamie how payment works, if I need to give him a credit card number. He then explained that they work on the honor system, and that you tell them what kind of dates you want, and they ship it, and when you receive it you send back a check. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. It is so cool to hear that people out there still have that kind of trust in humanity. When you send out positive vibes into the world like that I believe that they always come back to you tenfold.
Their dates are unfrozen and unheated, and they use no chemicals of any kind, they are raw and organic.
Date Facts:
Dates are high in fiber, iron, potassium, calcium, and very energy producing. Fresh raw dates do not contain any sodium, fat, or cholesterol.
So don't hesitate to sign up with Jamie, you won't regret it. I will attached pics in to future when I get my dates.

i was at the Raw Spirit Festival this year (2007) in Sedona and took home dates from The Date People
curious, i thought -- they're awful hard to find on the internet -- i did many a search before i found any mention of 'the date people'
now i know, thx to yer wonderful post telling about them -- their PDF is AMAZING, too
i sensed something while visiting their booth, but it was nothing specific i could recognize -- now, knowing more about them from your post and their 2006 PDF, i feel lucky to have met them
while the activities for the 3 days at the festival might not have addressed solutions to their many specific concerns, if we all participate in some way, even by frequenting sites online like yours -- we will all do better by each other
