9/10/06 - Two new additions to the family

Here I am again, after a short break.  Sorry for the delay, between the holiday, meetings at work, and two new additions to our family it's been pretty non-stop lately.

Yes, we have two new additions to our family, Tigger and Sasha, two beautiful cats.  They were found abandoned in the street at 1.5 months, and were picked up by the Newtown Cat Rescue, who we acquired them from.  I never had an animal in my life, besides one that would fit in an aquarium, so this is all new for me.  My wife has had animals her entire life so for her this has been a long time coming.  They are brother and sister and are so cute and playful.  I never would have gotten them in the past because I use to be allergic to cats, and always found most animals a nuisance.  But, raw living has really taught me an appreciation for all living things, and I can honestly say they truly are a blessing.  Yes, it takes time out of my day to feed them and show them affection, but it good for them, and good for us.  My allergies haven't bothered me at all either.  Once I rubbed my eye and it became a little itchy, but I just washed my face and it went away.  There haven't been any nasal reactions at all, what a blessing raw foods are.

Tigger, what a cutie.  What great colors, like a tiger.

Sasha, she is precious, still learning to trust us.

Brother and sister love, shouldn't we all follow their example.

On a quick closing not, if you haven't seen this upcoming movie trailer yet, you are missing out.

This is a film about live food and the intention of healing.

Raw for 30-Days will document the journey of five Americans suffering from Adult Onset Type II Diabetes, who undergo a radical 30-day diet and lifestyle change in the hope of reversing or reducing their insulin dependence. The film will show the eating habits that led to the development of this disease and will posit an alternative approach to living and eating, one in which foods can heal and hold the potential to reverse Diabetes. We will recruit subjects who have been subsisting on a standard American junk food diet and who are now insulin dependent and Diabetic. Those selected will journey to the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Arizona to undergo a 30-day health regimen consisting of 100% raw organic living foods that are purported to heal Diabetes. We will select a diverse group of subjects, representative of the different segments of the population most affected by this epidemic. Examples include a Native American from a Reservation, an African American from an urban Northeast city, a Mexican American living in the western US and a Caucasian person from the mid-west or a Southern city such as Chattanooga, TN.
