08/31/07 - Meetup at the Farm

I went to our CT Raw Food Meetup last night at the Sticks and Stones Farm in Newtown, CT. We had a smaller group this time around, but what an enjoyable time we all had. It is such a lovely place, filled with good heartwarming people and great conversation. They have a potluck dinner there every Thursday that is open to the public, and our raw food group usually meets there the last Thursday of the month to add our raw fare to the mix. Last night we had sprouted beans, raw humus, salads, lettuce wraps, raw crackers, peach desserts, and even banana ice cream. Yum!

Picture a group of people sharing a meal together around a long table, talking about their day, their life, like a big family. Not everyone knows each other; there is usually new people every time, but that is the beauty. Everyone comes with an open heart, positive words on their lips, and great food for the belly. And… Sticks & Stones Farm is drug, alcohol, and tobacco free to boot. Thanks Tim and Annie!

I hope to see you there next time, and I hope to remember my camera.

For those of you that have been reading my blog and are interested in raw foods you should consider signing up to meetup.com. All you have to do is type in raw foods in the search field after you sign up and it will show you all the groups in the different states. You just then pick the CT group, or whatever area that you are in. There is an events calendar that shows all the upcoming events, details, etc.

See you soon!
