1/26/08 - Walking In Circles
Have you ever…
Found yourself walking in circles with your diet?
Felt yourself being spun like an “around the world” yo-yo trick?
Overate to the point of having a food hangover?
Maybe its time for you to take a walk….
Not off a short pier but around in circles, with purpose.
Try walking a labyrinth.
A labyrinth is a walking meditation.
It is a chance to unplug, and simply put life on-hold.
An opportunity to be fully in the moment.
Walking toward your center.
Being still through movement.
A haiku I wrote in dedication to my labyrinth experience:
My secret labyrinth
Always guiding me to source
With heart wide open
My friend walked the whole thing with her eyes closed,
just feeling the rocks with her feet, open to change at any moment.
What is your method of "walking it off?"
Blessings to all,
Philip
Ps. Find a Labyrinth in your area

I walked a labyrinth in Hawai'i made of lava stones. It was fun and definitely a meditation on life. There are twists and turns and sometimes you pass by the place where you started or you catch a glimpse of where you are heading next and just when you think you reached the end... It is actually the middle and you begin traveling out in a spiraling circle, where the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning. What a journey life is.
Such a lovely thought - to walk in circles with a purpose......and what truer purpose than walking towards source with heart wide open....
Beautiful post, Soul-nourishing haiku,
Thanks Philip....

i love labyrinths. . . the physical act of walking through them as well as the thought, spirituality and history surrounding them. . . and on a sidenote- the movie has been a favourite since childhood, what girl wasn't completely in love with david bowie??!!

I did a maize maze once. But I got lost and they had to send out a crew to find me.
Sorry for the corny story.
