Hiking in the Woods

Hooray, it is getting warmer and time for more and more hikes in the woods!

My sister Robin flew up from Florida this past weekend and I spent time with her and a mutual friend hiking in a local state park.  What a pleasure it is to be back outside amongst the trees and the animals.  I saw my first bunny of the year hopping along the trail already.  He even let me snap a couple pictures of him.

One of my favorite past times is getting out in the middle of the woods and laying down on my back while staring up at the trees, and watching them blow in the wind.  Rooted so deep and so strong, but at the same time flowing back and forth, always going with the flow.  Always in the moment.  They are one of my greatest teachers.

Time to put away the coat and break out the poncho.  Wait a minute, I don't think I ever put it away. : )

Love the new photos! Hiking is my favorite thing and we have this great nature reserve area that should be bursting and vibrating with the glory of spring about now. Reading your blog reminded me...need to go spend some time there this week.

Hi Philip,
I love to hike too. I am from the DC area and there are lots of state parks in Maryland and Virginia which are close to my old home town. You look so serene out in the woods in your poncho.
Hugs to you xo Dea
