Super Smoothies

Photo: Jeff @ Rawtographer.com

So you ready to dance until 4 in the morning?
Do you want to go all day, vigorous and confident?
Are you ready for an extra portion of joy in your life?

Well Super Smoothies may just be the answer for you!

I have been making Super Smoothies for awhile now, and love how they make me feel.  Energized throughout the day, not even thinking about food.  My breakfast smoothie carries me right through lunch into dinner, leaving me with eating two meals a day instead of 3.  Time saved!

All the ingredients I use aren't necessary, but they sure are fun!
Most of them can be found here.

Here is what I usually use:

Nutrients: Greens - Some type of dark leafy green   (spinach or kale)
Texture: Bananas make them nice and creamy
Sweetener: Apple or Mango or other sweet fruit
Fun Stuff:  Cacao, Maca, Mesquite, Sea Salt, Cayenne, Goji Berries, Flame Raisans, Chia Seed, Shizandra Berry Powder, Hemp Seed, Herbal Teas, Coconut Water, Spring Water

"You're gonna looove this"... & I'm thinking, nooo! The internet doesn't have tastability (yet)!! *laugh*

Things I loved:

1) The swoop around your back video effect. Very snazzy Jeff
2) Explaining chia seeds, never really understood them
3) The tip about putting goji's in last - I'd always been soaking them first, so will try that too, aim for chewiness. I like that.
4) Cool tip about cayenne too.

I've gotta say, it looks -delicious-!

Hey Phil

Great video. Do you finish the green smoothie at one go, or do you consume it over the whole day? If it's over the whole day, do you lose the nutrients ?

I started making smoothies a couple of years ago. I didn't try veggie smoothees until I saw Jack Lalane juicing on tv. I was surprised how good kale and cider was with no sweetener. Also discovered that I didn't absolutely need Lalane's juicer. The blender worked fine. Your video has given me interesting ideas about ingredients which is good because I'm in kind of a kale and beet root rut. Love the far out toxic looking colors of these drinks.

I haven't converted to raw or juicing. Still eat a lot of takeout (indian right now). I probably should avoid that stuff as they do trans fats and a lot of triple frying but I find it hard to believe I could ever be satisfied eating healthy foods. I've been eating junk so long. What can I say I'm an American.
