Putting Yourself First

Photo: Jeff @ Rawtographer.com

My buddy Jeff and I made a quick visit to forage some spring water while he was visiting in Asheville. While we were there I made a quick video on "Putting Yourself First."

That's so very true. I find I'm my best self, best person, best wife, best mother, best advocate, best business woman, best of EVERYTHING, when I'm carving out the time to put myself first. And when I don't, THAT would be when everything else starts to suffer and try to unravel. ;) Great post Philip! :D

Philip, thank-you ever so much for this post it truly made my day, and pulled my focus back to where it should be so i can be a better person for those who rely on me, i find the more time one is able to devote to oneself the more fulling time i have available for those around me and rely on me.

on a side-note i truly love your blog and you have inspired me to try to embrace the raw lifestyle your journey has been an inspiration, (i too need to loose 200pounds) and your story was truly incredible

Best wishes
Vee

I absolutely love this video. It's very serene and entirely true. People find time for so many other obligations and commitments and put themselves and their own health second to all else. It's a value thing I think.. we make choices that reflect how we feel about ourselves and sometimes we have to push ourselves to make the ones that will positively influence our life (but it's so very much worth it) and sometimes the choice is so natural it just happens, but when you take charge of how you feel, everything changes for the better. Love it! :)

Thank you so much for saying what you just said, man... sometimes I feel like I'm dying, trying to help people, trying, trying, trying, hating myself... but what you just said makes a whole lot of sense - what on earth am i thinking trying to help people when i am so destroyed inside? Thank you.

I live fairly near a beautiful spring with great water. But I am never sure how long I can safely keep the water in bottles for. I am using big glass bottles which I will have washed but not sterilised. Does anyone know?
