It can divide loving relationships, because changing the way you eat is actually a huge deal. It doesn’t have to be if handled well, but most of the time it can be a real rollercoaster ride.

Emma MacDougall, has written a very heartfelt informative ebook that is essential reading for the couples who have decided to go raw.

Its not very often that two people in a relationship will go into eating raw at the same time, its super rare actually.

Most of the time its one of you that makes a big decision to change your life by changing the way you eat.

It might not seem like a big thing, but oh it is! When you look back to your relationship, a lot of it revolves around food, eating out, sharing desserts, and cooking together.

But if one of you starts to become ill (like I did) and really want a new direction in life, then raw eating can really draw you in.

It’s usually a similar story... You (or the partner) starts looking into raw, you spend hours on the internet, looking at YouTube videos and interviews, reading raw books and getting really into the lifestyle and actually getting excited about it. But, if your other half does not share this excitement, then it can be a super drama.

The most amazing thing about eating mostly raw foods is what it can do for your mind. Yes that’s right, it changes the way you think.

I speak from experience and I know Emma does too. You start to really connect with nature and fall in love with the beauty of the world, but you also begin to look into other matters and issues that you may have not given a second thought to.

I was quite obsessed with raw and used to get really upset when my husband would not think the dishes I was making were as great as I did. He would always say its ok, but I still like cooked food.

After spending a long time preparing food I would feel quite hurt when he went to the fridge and made himself something he was used to.

Because of the way I was awakening to other things in my life, it really freaked him out. I started looking into what some would say ‘conspiracy theories’, but I would say perhaps the truth to what is really going on in the world that most others just choose to ignore.

Me Raw, You Cooked is Emma’s story of how she found the raw diet and what it did to her relationship. She actually split up from Rod for quite a while, calling off their wedding and living apart, both not knowing what was going to happen in the future.

This ebook is also a love story and I shed a tear a few times reading their beautiful letters to each other.

I am very happy to say as well that they were recently married and have learnt to deal with their raw relationship, and have worked out how to keep each other happy.

Emma has also got some fantastic recipes in this ebook as well, which are aimed at appealing both the diets of the raw person and non raw. It’s more than just a book you read once… you can come back to time and time again.

If you are raw yourself, and someone you share your life with doesn’t quite understand, then leaving a copy of this ebook for him or her will really help. You can both figure out how to speak to each other with not getting too emotional. Life is all about give and take and Emma really helps for you to learn how to do this.

Priced at approx $13.00 US it really is an inexpensive way to sort out a huge drama you may possibly have with being raw!

You heard me right! How can we all become Terra-ists; greater supporters of the earth?

Terra comes from the Latin word for Earth, land or terrain. When I say Terra-ist, I am referring to a group or tribe of people that ARE the next evolution of conscious community here on Earth. To be a Terra-ist means that you take great conscious care, and have love for YOUR earth, land and terrain in which you live.

In my eyes, those that choose to be a Terra-ist speak compassion through their words; have integrity in their actions and ways in which they choose to live. With the state of our world today it is becoming increasingly obvious that in order to continue to thrive on this planet, we must nurture our home space, our surroundings and most important of all, our bodies which are our vehicles in making all things possible.

By opting to become a Terra-ist you are taking charge and enhancing your life on all levels! You are striving for greatness in all ways such as fresh air, pure foods, nurturing relationships and a supportive, sustainable environment which will then support you.

Terra-ists’ habits are in harmony with their particular habitat. No matter what part of the world a Terra-ist lives, they are consistently finding ways to live in a more conscious manner with the resources they have. Does this mean we need to flee into the woods to rustically camp wearing leaves and shrub? or run off to a tropical island to sleep in a coconut tree to show we can be more “green conscious” or “sustainable”?

Certainly not! Shine brightly and consciously wherever you are! Whether you are in the jungles of Costa Rica, or amongst the concrete terrain of downtown LA, you have a conscious choice to stand up and make rational positive choices that will then flow back to you.

Waking up and choosing to shift your life’s direction to be a Terra-ist does not imply that you lose your authentic identity or take on someone else’s who’s is in this conscious movement. We are all One, yet we are all unique individuals. No need to abruptly begin hippie-fying yourself in duds that are not your character or taking scissors to your lovely locks to fit in or appeal to a more sophisticated “green” scene. As Terra-ists that come in all styles, and all cultures, I invite all individuals to be who they are, do what they love and live through example; authentically. Others will catch the conscious drift!

Here are various 6 ways you can start your Terra-ist journey today!

Buy your food locally: Doing so lowers transprotation costs, and reduces fuels greatly. By buying food locally you support farmer's close to you and in return get fresher food for better health!

Burn calories not fuel: Ride a Bike! If you are going to lunch, over to a friends or to the post office, hope on a bike! Doing so cuts back on yucky emissions from your car, gets you some exercise and there is one less belching car on the road with just one body occupying it!

Take your own container: Whether you are grabbing a snack or a cup of Organic coffee I recommend you bring your own vessel! What sense does it make to use a container once and toss it into a landfill?

Be Thrifty: Shop and your local thrift stores for new-to-you clothes and other items needed such as furniture and gadgets. Doing so supports a local business, and greatly reduces unecessary meterials to produce more stuff to buy.

Miss Mango's Sexy ceramic mug (re-Useable)

5. Shower with a friend: This one is just for fun and you save water!

6. Be Transparent: This is a great way to create and build healthy relations with others. Even if it seems difficult, silly or unnecessary, give it a try! speaking perfectly truthful.

TWO simple Examples of Transparent Communication:

“No, I do not agree with _________________ , however thats an interesting view”.

“Actually, you cannot have my last Yerba Mate’ because it is my last one... but I will let you know when I have more!”

Telling the transparent truth or how you really feel can sometimes be uncomfortable yet people will appreciate your honesty and you will get that same respect reflected back to you.

Terra-Ists are taking over! Spread the word.

Maybe some of the excitement and buzz around the program (or your own exercise routine) has started to wear off for you. Careful... that is when you really need to buckle down.

Skipping a day or two can turn into a week, and then next thing you know it you'll be forgetting about it all together. I'm here to encourage you to stick it out, stay focused, and remain in the flow.

Here are some Tips to keep you motivated.

1. Create A Trigger

Put your P90X disks in a place you almost have to trip over them daily. I have them on my office desk and see it every morning. If doing another form of exercise, leave yourself a reminder card, or something that triggers you to workout.

2. Plan Ahead

If your not doing the program in the morning, write down in your calendar or journal or iCal application the time you will be doing your workout. Keep your own self accountable.

3. Alert Yourself

Add reminder alerts to go off on your cell phone, computer, or through your email program for the time you picked to workout. Remember, this is for you. Your own personal time to take care of self.

4. Take Pictures

Take pictures, take pictures, take pictures. You will see changed in your body, but sometimes when they are little by little it can be difficult to always recognize them. When taking pictures you really see the changes and that will inspire you even more to continue on.

5. Proper Form

Finally, when working out, really DO the exercises. I know sometimes it can be easy to cheat on your form so you can get out the max number of reps or time that you want to exercise, but never at the expense of poor form. This doesn't serve you at all. Better to have good form with low reps, or modify the movement, but do it right. Correct form produces amazing results... even if the reps are low to start. The better results you have, the more you will be motivated to continue.

I Believe In You!

Philip McCluskey

Ps. Some people have asked about the Raw Protein Powder I use after my workouts. Vanilla is my favorite and it can be found here.

Pss. Also, enjoy this FREE Raw Food Recipe for Cheesy Pasta from Melissa Mango!

Jamie Oliver: Teach Every Child About Food

Dear Philip, I always wanted to be a Chinese scholar. I remember seeing an apartment of a red-headed Irish man whose bookshelves were crammed full of well-read Chinese books when I was a teenager. Well, you're right! I'm 61, and I'm going to get that wonder back in a more full-time manner and just do it:-) Thank you, once again.

Suki recently touched on the changes in raw diets. I have also noticed these shifts and it made me think about how uniquely different all of our journey’s are. While discovering and transitioning to a raw lifestyle it can be easy to look up to the popular figures out there, I know I have and still do. But what is also a key in maintaining and succeeding in the lifestyle is remembering your individuality. That’s why I feel compelled to share my raw parenting story.

Being a young single mother in itself is a journey. The support I have has left me feeling blessed in this role. As you may know I am the proud mother of a beautiful, lively 5 year old prince. I often share that he is my reason for going raw.

While I was raised vegan in my infant and toddler years and later transitioned to a vegetarian diet, I reached a point in my life where I had realized that it wasn’t enough. When my son was about 2 years I started to go through a transition. I had a successful job that I loved, was able to take care of myself and my son and had the support of my mother and my son’s father who was still very involved. I thought I had everything I needed, yet I would come home exhausted and was constantly depressed and feeling lonely.

Nothing Is Impossible

P90X: Day 9 - Increased Energy
