10/02/06 - The Date People

Just thought I would throw in a quick note today about The Date People.  No, I am not promoting a new singles website, I mean the dates that you eat.

I have learned to love dates and found out about Jamie & Anjou Jones, owners of The Date People in CA, from raw websites and books so I thought I would give them a call.  Jamie answered all my questions and was very helpful and informative.  It was pretty neat speaking with the owner as they have no employees and run everything themselves.  That being said, he has all the most up to date information on everything datey!

10/01/06 - David Wolfe & more raw food

For those of you that aren't familiar with David Wolfe, he is the author of a few books that I own and really enjoy. He wrote "Sunfood Diet Success System," "Eating for Beauty," and "Naked Chocolate." His motto is "Have the Best Day Ever." I really enjoy him because he has high energy, and knows what he is talking about. He is one of the leading authorities on nutrition and the raw food movement. Both of his parents are doctors, but he chose to go another route.

Anyway, I wanted to see him speak for awhile, so I decided to go to this event. I planned on getting there an hour early, but with traffic and a couple wrong turns we arrived 30 mins late. It was sort of a big open room with people everywhere, maybe about 200 total. There were people walking around with raw appetizers, they were so tasty. Later they had raw desserts, so chocolaty and delicious. The really cool thing about the whole event was that everyone there was so full of love. I mean that place was tight, and when you bumped someone they were so apologetic, instead of rude, which is what we normally find in CT. People there all radiated health and happiness, as I am sure most were raw fooders.
