9/23/06 - New Clothes, Old Memories
Weight Update:
Well, the weight loss has been a little slow lately. Tomorrow will be a month since my first entry and I have lost an additional 8 pounds, bringing me down to 317, with a total fat loss of 83 lbs. I am pretty excited about that, but I know I could be loosing more. Either way, I am just leaving it in God's hands and moving on. I think that now that I am lighter, my caloric intake needs to decrease as well, and if I am still consuming the same amount of calories, raw or not, I will not continue to loose weight at the same pace. Darn those avocados. Also, I have been severely slacking on exercise which is not good. I have only been occasionally doing cardio in the past which is a problem. You can eat perfect 24/7, but without regular routine exercise, you will never obtain superb health. Anyway, I bought a new pair or Merrell Chameleon sneakers for everyday use and hiking, which I love. They support my feet better than any other sneakers I have ever worn, and actually inspire me to walk, which I have done everyday since I got them, and hopefully will encourage me to hike too.
9/10/06 - Two new additions to the family
Here I am again, after a short break. Sorry for the delay, between the holiday, meetings at work, and two new additions to our family it's been pretty non-stop lately.
Yes, we have two new additions to our family, Tigger and Sasha, two beautiful cats. They were found abandoned in the street at 1.5 months, and were picked up by the Newtown Cat Rescue, who we acquired them from. I never had an animal in my life, besides one that would fit in an aquarium, so this is all new for me. My wife has had animals her entire life so for her this has been a long time coming. They are brother and sister and are so cute and playful. I never would have gotten them in the past because I use to be allergic to cats, and always found most animals a nuisance. But, raw living has really taught me an appreciation for all living things, and I can honestly say they truly are a blessing. Yes, it takes time out of my day to feed them and show them affection, but it good for them, and good for us. My allergies haven't bothered me at all either. Once I rubbed my eye and it became a little itchy, but I just washed my face and it went away. There haven't been any nasal reactions at all, what a blessing raw foods are.
